Rabia Singla, Founder at The Moody People Co.

Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Rabia Singla : So, growing up I observed that few things grab our attention more as compared to others sitting on the same rack in a store. I have always seen a huge difference between the performance of premium/international brands and the other brands in the market.

‘Jo dikhta hai, wo bikta hai’, stays true till date. Premium brands stand out really well. Everything looks perfect about them. They are more visually appealing. What makes them different? It’s the mental and physical investment in the design, colorscheme, fonts that make up a Brand.

There weren’t any good Creative Studios which were affordable and flexible. And those which were already there were charging hefty for their services and were located only in metro cities.

So I decided to bridge the gap and take the studio to all those small cities and small brands which look up to the creative services as some fancy waste of money. And assist them in marking their presence in the digital space more effectively.

Great Companies: What are the various Services provided by The Moody People Co.

Rabia Singla : Ours is a B2B business. We offer Photography, Videography, Photo/Video Editing, Branding, Ad making, Social Media Creatives, etc. to brands and businesses looking to make big.

To sum up, we are a ‘one stop shop’ for all your creative requirements.

Great Companies: What makes The Moody People Co. different from hundreds of other similar service providers?

Rabia Singla : What makes us different is the ‘personal connect’ that we offer. I personally take the queries and understand the requirements of our clients. I brainstorm every project and see all possibilities to turn the money that our clients spend on us into a successful investment. I offer my ideas, ask for references, see what’s workable and what’s not. I have a serious OCD for designs and visual alignments. So if anything goes off, it really keeps bugging me until it gets corrected.

Secondly, we carry our office everywhere with us. We don’t have a fixed physical space for operations. This has helped us in cutting down our fixed costs big time and we are able to provide services at much competitive prices. We are operating virtually even from before Covid times.

We are also able to set up our studio at our client’s space for Photo/Video Shoots. Which again cuts the courier costs and expensive items like jewelry are shot in front of our client’s eyes. So that our client can see the difference that we add through our skills when final images are delivered. The whole idea is to make the workflow more transparent and add an inclusive experience for our clients. They should know what they’re paying for and can understand our turnaround times well.

And as the name goes, The Moody People, we design according to the mood of your brand, your business. Each project is handled exclusively and individually.

Lastly, I do not consider the job done until and unless my clients are not happy with the outcome. So we offer a decent number of free revisions on one project. After all, what’s the point of our clients spending on us when their purpose is not solved. Building long term relationships with clients is something I thrive for while expanding our clientele too.

Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face?

Rabia Singla : Indian businesses still underestimate the value of Good Design and Photography. They look to spend the least on Branding. They still don’t realize what wonders a good design or a professional photoshoot can do to their businesses.

I have seen brands having so much potential in their products but performing poorly or unable to raise investments (recent reference, Shark Tank India) because they’re unable to stand out well on the digital front. Which is really sad.

Besides this, clients bargaining like while street shopping and wanting big and bold logos on creatives are really a pain.

Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for The Moody People Co.?

Rabia Singla : We are here for eternity, I don’t plan on visualizing just for the next 5 years.

I can bet on our prices being the most competitive in the market while not compromising on the quality of work. Plus the business ethics and morals at The Moody People Co. are something which will ensure its success forever.

Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

Rabia Singla : ‘Don’t let anyone tell you that you should quit.’ That’s it! Don’t leave until you’re happy and satisfied with your creation. Be it a photo, video, graphic or anything!
