Prajwal Mugali, CoFounder at OneToBeam

Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Prajwal Mugali: Idea and concept are two different things wherein, the idea to start any business happens overnight, but the concept to make it work as a sustainable business model undergoes a lot of process and iterations. The basic premise to start any product based business is to answer a key question - how is it going to help the end user. Catering to this fast paced and adaptive world, we introduced “OneToBeam” primarily aimed at the Real Estate sector with applications across other industries as well. But the core remains the same – allow end users to virtually walk through any space and explore at an affordable cost with fast turn around times. Thus we aim at providing On Demand Subscription based Virtual Tours allowing people to view properties from anywhere on their e-devices.

Great Companies: What are the various services provided by OneToBeam

Prajwal Mugali: We, at OneToBeam aim to be a Virtual Tour Service provider where in the end user has an immersive visual experience of any infrastructure on a smartphone – could be a built space with a live photoshoot or in the planning stage through 3D Models. Within this umbrella of services our stand out product is the On Demand Subscription based Virtual Tours at extremely affordable prices – as low as 1,000/- INR for a property. Apart from this we provides services like Video Shoots, photo shoots ,Drone Shoots, various types of 3D modeling and related services

Great Companies: What makes OneToBeam different from hundreds of other similar service providers?

Prajwal Mugali: Quoting Steve Jobs here – Innovation distinguishes a leader from a follower. At OneToBeam, we would like to think of ourselves as innovators, not just from a technology stand point, but also in our processes & execution. This is the key to be able to provide an existing services as a SaaS product. Virtual Tours as a service is available with multiple players but none providing it as a Subscription service at literally 1/10th of the cost. Thus, we innovated to make the product cost friendly so that everyone gets a bite of the apple. Secondly, OneToBeam is the fastest when it comes to the turnaround time for the Virtual tours and thirdly OneToBeam is the first Company to launch On Demand Virtual Tours as Subscription model.

Great Companies: What were the struggles and challenges you faced and how did you overcome them?

Prajwal Mugali: I guess the term start-up has been coined such to be indicative of the starting problems one would have to face in the journey and from our experience it’s a never endign one. The primary struggle has been breaking the barrier of being open and adaptive to use new technology in an extremely orthodox Industry such as the Real Estate. Also being a new 360 degree visual platform, it is very challenging to market and explain the product when not face to face with our Customers.

Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for OneToBeam?

Prajwal Mugali: From our experience, most plans end up being pivoted into new plans and new areas of development. We started as a Virtual Reality based firm which we pivoted into a Virtual Tour Service Provider which is very VR ready when the market does with the influx of Meta. Having said that, we would like to be the primary On Demand Subscription based platform in the top 10 cities in the next 3 years where in all major Relators, Property Mgmt firms, etc would be on our platform.

Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

Prajwal Mugali: There’s this quote I read somewhere and we try to follow the same at OneTobeam - “Become Comfortable being Uncomfortable”. Comfort zone doesn't take you places and leads to stagnation. As a brand that’s influencing the industry to comfortably view any infrastructure from anywhere, we had to be uncomfortable in delivering this service. Developing & delivering a product / service to make the end users experience comfortable, one must be willing to put in the yards to achieve so.
