Paul Milroy: Guthrie and Craig (Training Services) Limited specialise in Health and Safety training, having delivered in house and face to face training prior to becoming a Health & Safety Consultant offering a wider spectrum of Health & Safety training was a natural progression. The idea of the online training platform, along with becoming a member of BNI, is to raise the profile of the business and over a wider range of services to new and existing clients.

Guthrie and Craig was established in 1995, Guthrie & Craig is a Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality and Engineering Management Consultancy and Training Organisation. Based in the North East, we have worked all over the United Kingdom. We are a friendly and approachable Company, working within a wide range of Industries and Business Sectors.

Great Companies: What are the various services and products provided by your company?

Paul Milroy: We provide both face to face and remote health and safety consultancy, support and training. We can visit clients throughout the United Kingdom for face to face consultancy and training, our accredited online training is available globally. Our line training covers, Health & Safety, Business Skills and Health & Social Care.

Paul Milroy: We are complete package and each client is allocated a dedicated consultant, however we have the flexibility within the team to provide cover where required, this give us the flexibility to offer fluctuation in demand, our online training, is interactive, easy to use and packages can be structured to meet the needs of any size of business. We have 40 years of combined Health & Safety experience and our online training is are approved by external organisations

Paul Milroy: Marketing and building the brand outside of our existing client base and immediate referral network.

Great Companies: What do you think are the few main things which are most important for a successful business?

Paul Milroy: Reputation, as an organisation we have grown through word of mouth recommendations, BNI is helping us grow through referral marketing, the education available through BNI-U has been provided a lot of underpinning knowledge to support us in structured growth, which is another important factor in business success.

Setting achievable goals and diversifying within your sector, in a way that have with online training, we had opportunities to launch the platform in the past, but we waited until the time was right for the business, which is proving to be the right decision.
