Padmapani Tilwe, Co-Founder at Worksphere Architects

Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Padmapani Tilwe : We were lucky to be working in one of the country's fastest growing organisation in commercial design. Hence it was an obvious choice to start with a niche and specialise in commercial design. We started our practice in 2003. That was the golden period and economy was on upswing. India was shinning.

Great Companies: What are the various Services provided by Worksphere Architects

Padmapani Tilwe: Having started with Commercial design, Today Worksphere is entrusted by its clients to design Industrial Parks, R & D Center and Labs,Commercial & Retail Spaces. We clearly work in niche and work with exclusive clientel

Great Companies: What makes Worksphere Architects different from hundreds of other Architecture Firms?

Padmapani Tilwe:

We offer Quality at an affordable price. Over years from an efficiency driven firm we are evolved to be a matured firm. With experience we can engineer a design to produce best quality and performance at an affordable price.

Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face?

Padmapani Tilwe: Our biggest Challenge is our marketing and sales ability. By default we are designers and not marketers. We have a limited reach and exposure to new leads. All our clients are through refferals and we have organically grown. This has resulted in modest growth and not an exponential one

Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for Worksphere Architects?

Padmapani Tilwe: We wish to retain our position as a matured organisation. This means our designs are thoughful and are well controlled. This would lead smooth operation and delightful experience for our clients.

5 years down, being a matured organisation we would be attracting more complex projects. These would help us to sharpen our saw almost every day and will improve our learning curve consistently .We will be taking projects only when we would have a unrivalled value proposition to the client.

Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

Padmapani Tilwe: I would advice younger designers to think big. Think! Why design industry has not produced young Le Corbusier or Charles Correa or Hafeez Contractor, unlike IT industry which produced Mark Zuckerberg and Young Steve Jobs. This is because we dont think big enough.
