Naman Gupta- Founder of Suadre


Great Companies: Please tell me something about the business and how did you come up with such an idea? Naman Gupta: Founded in 2017, Suadre – Your personalized Style studio is one of its kind men’s clothing and styling labels in India based out of Jaipur. We are on a mission to bring a blend of sophistication, elegance, and class to your wardrobe. We combine some of the best fabrics and designs from around the world to make perfectly fitted custom wear.   Designed by you, a reality made by us. Give yourself the freedom to design your custom-made outfit at Suadre - choosing from over a million combinations we provide to enhance your custom wardrobe. Our fabrics are sourced from around the world and tailored to perfection at our in-house manufacturing hub. Our young and energetic team comprises innovative creators, marketers, design experts, production master & tailors, all based out of our Jaipur Studio.

About my coming up with this idea - Post my graduation, I always opted for a tailored suit instead of a ready-made one. First,  ready-made clothing is either too loose or too tight, sometimes sleeves are long or garment length is short. A bit more of a deep dive into this situation revealed that this was an issue faced by a lot of men who are not happy with the ‘standard size ‘ provided at most retails. Now with tailored clothing,  there are two major problems; 1. Fabric cloth stores don’t have enough designs in the garment available & the fitting & finishing of the attire is not up to the mark. 2. Although designer stores do provide with different silhouettes and fit, but have limited options in fabric and also charge a bomb for a single attire. Therefore, I found a gap in the market that required a combination of a fabric store and a design studio, also solving the problem of the ready-made retail market. Hence, SUADRE was founded.  Great Companies: What are the various services and products provided by your company?Naman Gupta: Suadre is a Menswear bespoke clothing label that offers a perfect fit garment, as per a style chosen by you from more than 5000 fabric designs. We cover everything from formal suits, wedding wear, indo-western, casual wear shirts & blazers and ethnic wear kurta & jackets in menswear. Our fabric range starts from 100% Egyptian & Supima cotton to 100% Irish linen, Blended wool to 100% wool, made in Italy. We also have a huge collection of fashion fabrics for designer wear outfits.   At Suadre we believe that the best way to improve our product and service is to lose ourselves in the service of others.

Great Companies: Why should one choose you over others in this field?

Naman Gupta: At SUADRE, we just don’t believe in providing the best-fitted garments at pocket-friendly prices, but we believe in providing an experience. The thrill of choosing a fabric from a variety of them and designing It in a way that you deem fit, the services of bespoke tailoring,  the finishing touch of a custom made garment, finally leading to pride in wearing the SUADRE label. Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face? Naman Gupta: I would like to divide my struggles and challenges into before I started & after I started the business. Before I started, my challenges were something to the tone of - do I have enough industry knowledge, will I be able to differentiate my company in what may seem to be an already acquired retail market, where will I source from, how will I build my team & how will I attract customers.  Now that it’s been 2 years since my business started, the issues are different. How to keep my staff productivity high, how to keep them motivated, how to cut costs, how to get more customers, to expand, or not to expand. But one thing I can say is, all of these struggles are part of your journey to learn and be better every single day.




Great Companies: What do you think are the few main things which are most important for a successful business?

Naman Gupta: For any successful business, in my personal experience, two things are very important. An idea, and the determination to bring it to life. A business journey, especially for a start-up, goes through more ups and downs than one can list but it’s your determination that pulls it through. Media Links
