Company Detail:

CLEARSTEM is the first clean skincare line that targets acne and aging at the same time - without pore-clogging ingredients or hormone-disrupting fillers.

Unique Selling Proposition or Competitive Advantage:

With the rising interest in integrative health, they're paving the way for an innovative, inside-out approach to skincare. Whereas other ‘clean’ skincare brands contain comedogenic (pore-clogging) oils, they regard themselves as ‘acne-safe’ - safe for sensitive skin of all ages and stages of life. They address multiple concerns simultaneously by using premium active ingredients and working closely with a world-renowned cosmetic chemist to provide the best of both worlds - research-backed, clinical skincare and toxin-free formulations.

Beyond their award-winning topical products, they provide an ecosystem of root-cause solutions, supplements and services to support acne sufferers as they achieve clear skin for life:

-Their viral MINDBODYSKIN hormonal acne supplement, the only natural alternative to prescription acne medications.

-The revolutionary Acne Lab Test, which is helping thousands of people get to the root cause of their acne through comprehensive and affordable lab testing

-The Ditch Your Acne Protocol, a customized protocol to uncover your unique acne triggers and find your lifelong solution

-Their research-backed and informative interviews on hundreds of top-tier podcasts

Challenges Faced During the Journey

There have been many challenges, but that’s just part of being an entrepreneur! One time, their bottles arrived with bright pink metallic labels when they were supposed to be light blue. They didn't have a choice but to sell them, as they were about to sell out of the product. Luckily it turned into a really cool social media moment and they relied on their community to understand what happened - they were madly supportive. The lesson is that 99 percent of the things they freak out about are inconsequential in the long run. Just roll with the punches and don’t sweat the small stuff!

Advice for Women Entrepreneurs:

Their biggest piece of advice for women at any stage of their entrepreneurial journey is to prioritize personal development, conscious communication and regular therapy, if you have the resources to do so. Devoting time and energy to do the hard work on yourself will pay dividends in the long run as you set yourself up to navigate conflict, difficult relationships and key business decisions with grace.

They attribute the success of CLEARSTEM to their commitment to going to weekly therapy as co-founders. Working on their relationship to one another has been pivotal for open communication, decision making, and growing as individuals and as a business entity. It's a game changer for the entire business, for them as people, and for their team dynamic.
