Jeanette Peterson- Founder of Infinite Yoga & Wellness

Great Companies: Please tell me something about the business and how did you come up with such an idea? Jeanette Peterson: I went through a large personal growth and transformation in my life and Yoga helped me on my journey. I was helping people by default whilst working in the Corporate space and decided that the best way I could help people was to start my own Yoga & Wellness business. I have a natural pioneering spirit and I realised that the standard westernised Yoga was not giving people the expansion in life that it had brought me. So I decided to start my business and do it very differently to everyone else around me. I have a vision of a great world and believe ancient yogic philosophy and practices threaded into the modern world have the ability to deliver on my vision. I feel a strong sense of purpose and drive to bring the expansion I have had in my live to as many people as I can and to leave a legacy behind that will continue long after I have departed this life.

Great Companies: What are the various services and products provided by your company? Jeanette Peterson: I offer services one on one which is not common in Yoga in Australia. Most people know very little about Yoga and some go to exercise classes and even fewer try their hand at meditation but the vast majority of people I meet know nothing of how to bring the beauty and wonder of yogic philosophy into their everyday life. I work with people of all ages and all walks of life. Some pay and some cannot afford to pay. It is through the yogic message of pure love that I can support significant personal growth for people. I help individuals overcome tragedy in their lives, overcome obstacles, imprints from their childhood holding them back and help families create a practice that expands their understanding of one another. I believe it is my life's purpose to do this work and it brings me great joy. My focus is to teach people that all the power they need to have the life they choose exits within them. Therefore the processes I use are all about empowerment of the individual. I simply shine my light on them and it helps them to see their own way forward.

Great Companies: Why should one choose you over others in this field? Jeanette Peterson: My service is personalised to their individual needs and focuses on what they want to achieve in their life. It is not a one shoe fits all approach. By empowering them it enables them to empower others in their circle and creates a ripple effect that over time will change our world as we know it. I am clear on my why. People who choose my business do so because they feel connected to my why, it resonates within them. People don't buy what you do or how you do it, they buy why you do it. My approach is genuine and people feel it.

Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face? Jeanette Peterson: There are always struggles and challenges in a business model that can't follow the standard road map. That doesn't bother me at all. I am a strategic thinker and I see the road ahead clearly so I am prepared to do the hard work of the visionary to cut that path and lay a foundation for others to follow. I have a strong sense of connectedness and it drives my purposes even when times get tough. I left a high paying corporate job to pursue my vision of a better world for everyone. I am patient in knowing that when you cut into new space you need to educate and develop relationships and understanding. Then in time people will begin to follow your lead and eventually a tipping point can be reached. I am no stranger to struggles and challenges both personally and professionally. I am known in both my work and personal life for passion, resilience and persistence.

Great Companies: What do you think are the few main things which are most important for a successful business? Jeanette Peterson: Have an overall plan, be rock solid in your Why and be prepared to pivot regularly. If you are on a path and not cutting your own you are probably on someone elses path, not your own. Listen more than you speak, gain understanding and remain open to opportunities that come your way. Embrace disruption and change that comes from it and always remain curious. I have found myself where I am by maintaining my curiosity and not being fixed in the exact path forward. Keep your heart and mind open to possibilities and be prepared to change your view when information comes to hand that shows you another way forward. Above all love what you do and only do what you love, because people will feel it and so will you.
