Great Companies: Please tell me something about the business and how did you come up with such an idea?
Dr Lizzy Bernthal: I have a depth of experience of 25 years’ service with the Army as health profession combined with teaching, research and mentorship in tertiary education, training and well as my own research in psychological wellbeing, resilience and ethical decision-making. I have led and mentored multi-national and multi-functional teams in UK and abroad in Europe, Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia in a variety of contexts, organisations and cultures. Once I left the Army I wanted to support as many as possible to find their voice and be their empowered authentic self, it seemed natural to set up my own business as a platform to do this.
Great Companies: What are the various services and products provided by your company?
Dr Lizzy Bernthal: Mind-set reset and empowerment through 121 coaching, workshops, webinars, speaking at conferences, after dinner speaking online and face to face. I mentor individuals to overcome this self-limiting believe to find their authentic selves to become great leaders of themselves and others. My tools and techniques support them to realise that they have everything within them to be unstoppable.
Great Companies: Why should one choose you over others in this field?
Dr Lizzy Bernthal: I am not aware of anyone else with my combined expertise and experience combined with a passion to support others.
Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face?
Dr Lizzy Bernthal: Every challenge is a learning opportunity! Having never run my own business it has been a massive shift of mind-set from employee in a hierarchical organisation to an entrepreneur - a challenge I have embraced and relished.
Great Companies: What do you think are the few main things which are most important for a successful business?
Dr Lizzy Bernthal: Passion and belief in what you do to make a difference and contribute to the world, determination to succeed, ride the storm, build on strengths and outsource weaknesses.
