Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?
Debarya dutta: I was a student HR intern myself and was just graduating out of college, when I noticed the huge problem that lies in the talent acquisition domain. There is a huge hassle that goes behind manual evaluation of job seekers and yet due to lack of the right technology it culminates into a lot of mishires. That is when Upraised was born, to address this time consuming manual hassle of HRs and to provide a fair chance to the talented individuals lacking a heavyweight resume.

Debarya dutta: Upraised is a platform that leverages cognitive evaluation of candidates through an automated assignment parsing system based on a Machine Learning model.
We also act as virtual recruiters for MNCs and startups and plan to bring out a SaaS tool out of our solution.

Debarya dutta: Upraised is the only platform that is leveraging the automated AI based cognitive evaluation which is our unique value proposition.
Apart from that we have a closure rate of 96% with a price lower than the market cap.
So the tech along with the efficiency of the solution makes Upraised stand out from its peers.
Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face?
Debarya dutta: he main struggle was starting off as a student entrepreneur and to make a mark in this market with limited funds and a huge entry barrier. But I and my team were steadfast to make it through and gain the customer validation of our product. Undending hours of work, brainstorming ideas to find the pain point of the industry and offer the optimal solution, along with a strong determination helped us soldier through and make a mark in this industry.
Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What do 5 years down the line look like for Upraised?
Debarya dutta: Upraised has served over 300 clients in the ecosystem. Over the next 5 years, the plan is to quadruple that number and be the ultimate disruption in the HR-tech space. My dream is to make Upraised, a household name for every jobseekers and for every recruiters.
Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?
Debarya dutta: Never lose faith in your idea and yourself. There will be a lot of obstacles that come in your way and a lot of reasons to drop off midway, but it's at that point that you need to make your dream and ambition the greater priority than the easy way out.
