Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Debajyoti Banerjee: Let me start by thanking Great Companies for showing interest in publishing the story of my business venture on your website. It’s a great pleasure to communicate with the audience through your website.

I started my career in New Delhi and worked there for almost 6 years after my B.Tech in CSE & PGDM in Marketing. From my college days I had a wish to do something of my own but was not sure what that something is :) . I shifted base to Kolkata after that. During that time from 2005 to 2011, while I was handling roles in Sales, Marketing & Revenue Strategies in companies like Nuberg Engineering Ltd, Alstom, Tisco, Compare Infobase (Maps of India), 123Greetings.com & FusionCharts, I learnt a lot from the problems areas of their customer’s and professionals and addressed the gaps directly. I received appreciation from my seniors and from clients that motivated me to think again seriously to start something of my own. While doing so, Digital Marketing ( That time we call it internet marketing ) came to me naturally as a passion for generating revenue for businesses. I took that passion to the next level to start my own business, leaving my corporate career.

Debajyoti Banerjee: This is tough to tell you any one or two struggles and challenges. Every entrepreneur out there knows how the journey is. Everyday we have to face problems and challenges from clients to resources to finance to operations to even unforeseen areas. We try to find ways to overcome these to grow. At the end of the day one has to be a good problem solver to be successful in business ventures, keeping a calm mind & a positive attitude towards everything. Still I can say nurturing a great team is the most challenging task for a startup business. You’ll have to invest a lot of time and patience to create a reliable team who can run your business smoothly without you.

Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for Seven Boats Info-System Pvt. Ltd.?

Debajyoti Banerjee: We have expansion plan of opening branches / offices making Indian and foreign alliances, increasing numbers of our training associates / partners, starting up our rural digital camp, improving our service & training delivery to a new height with new innovations, technologies & strategies.

Our primary focus in next 5 years would be to get more satisfied customers, happy partners, students & team members. We want to create a strong eco system of skilled digital marketers and assist businesses in their digital transformation and thus generating more employment.
