Name of Company: Archivite Architecture
Founder Name: Karthik Nachiappan
Can you provide us with a description of your business? What was the purpose of starting this business? What issue did it want to solve?
Archivite started as a architectural and interior design consultancy firm by 2015. Graduating from an urbanism background, we wanted to add aesthetics to public spaces and Rural areas. With this motive our studio is branched our in to focusing on Farm houses (typological approach) and CSR projects (module based). We wanted to certainly tackle the issue or providing built environments at a much lower cost than expected.
How is it different from other competitors?
Only difference we show is towards our approach towards the project with community participation. We had done restoring railway station aesthetics in Chennai with group of above 150 random passengers and students. We have done a community center in Lattur involving the community people there to create micro economy.
What and how are the challenges so far? How did you overcome them?
Challenge we face in our approach are three stages.
1. Gathering people to participate - we have tackled it by involving students
2. Making the community people work with salary - we have eventually targeting CSR or NGO sponsors so that building could be sponsored
3. To research on urban and rural issues - we are constantly travelling around to identify and learn from existing culture and scenarios
