Akanksha Chaudhari - Founder of Envielle

Great Companies: Please tell me something about the business and how did you come up with such an idea? Well, as a creative head I’ve always loved making my own accessories, especially earrings. I strongly believe that the first visible accessory on your face can really speak a lot about you. After becoming an Architect, I willingly wanted to start a flipside design venture, and the first thought that came to my mind was of my unique skill – fusing quirky digital designs with jewellery. With a social aspect in mind to provide like-minded quirk-lovers eccentric and never-seen-before jewellery along with providing tribal women with financial help, I founded Envielle. Our mission is primarily to provide skill development opportunities to women in remote regions across Maharashtra. Great Companies: What are the various services and products provided by your company? Our most loved service is the custom bulk gifting service wherein products are designed particularly for their perusal i.e. Wedding and Party Favours. People with an eye for quirk and sustainability are the kind of customers we love serving. We have a range of unique Earrings, Necklaces and Anklets. After an overwhelming response to our Fashion Accessories, we swiftly entered into the Home Accessories Niche in 2019, with our top selling categories being Wall and Table Décor. Our rare designs in Tea Coasters and Wall Clocks are loved all over the world. Our team loves innovatively working with newer materials and only the ones with the lowest environmental harm make it to our folio. All our products are crafted out of recycled wood, paper and composites.

Great Companies: Why should one choose you over others in this field?

Akanksha Chaudhari: Our uniqueness and attention to detail has always been appreciated by our strong community of vibrant women. Our customized Wedding and Party Favor services have also been our unique selling proposition. Not only this, our concept of “Eco-Friendly ONLY” with ultimate transparency is something I don’t see too many brands doing. With Nickel and other harmful Artificial Jewelry Metals contributing to the pollution levels by over 4%, an Eco-friendly switch comes across as a good benevolent, doesn’t it?

Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face?

Akanksha Chaudhari: In a few places in India, Art and Design is still perceived as a dormant, sluggish and passive field. When art is fused with function, it is often looked at as avoidable, lavish and overpriced. This mind-set among some regions in India is a big struggle I’ve faced, as impact always begins at the local level. Our products are available all across the world; however, it always looks like a daunting task to be considered as any other business in India.

Great Companies: What do you think are the few main things which are most important for a successful business?

Akanksha Chaudhari: I think if every baby business undertakes Social Responsibility religiously, changing the world for good wouldn’t sound impossible. I was specifically clear about my social purpose way before starting my business and I think that has given me so much strength and determination to be able to make a difference. Ethics, Transparency and Value are also some vital aspects of a successful business. It is also essential to cope up with the changing times when doing global business.
