Great Companies: Please tell me something about the business and how did you come up with such an idea?
Abhishek Mehta, Rohan Udeshi and Sahil Jain: Like most start-ups in India, our story also began from a bedroom brainstorming session with an exhaustive focus on "what's next in life" and for us (Abhishek Mehta, Rohan Udeshi and Sahil Jain) "being your own boss" was a dream for years, before it finally becomes a reality. Since childhood, we had been exposed to family business and entrepreneurship was always on the mind.
Throughout 5 years of friendship, we were fortunate enough to participate and volunteer for events with various for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. That is when we hit a spark, a bond of brotherhood and trust which is one of the most important factors of a successful partnership. Hence we thought it would be a great idea to bring together our capabilities in a market, which we have been exploring for years.
Visionaries Events is a full-fledged event management company, striving to create extraordinary event experiences. Our established systems and processes ensure a smooth flow of work from beginning to end. We break barriers when we need to and go that extra mile. We started as a team of 5 members and currently a team of 28 young, creative, dynamic & dedicated professionals, who have pushed all areas of event management to new frontiers, whether it is artist management, product launch, exhibition, road-show, fashion show, wedding planning & celebrity management.

Great Companies: What are the various services and products provided by your company?
Abhishek Mehta, Rohan Udeshi and Sahil Jain: With our major business being weddings, we have a separate wing that specializes from Sangeet Sandhya & Bandoli to Mehendi & Haldi, which also look after Destination Weddings. We also look at end-to-end production and planning of corporate events& parties, brand activation, exhibition and concerts.
Great Companies: Why should one choose you over others in this field?
Abhishek Mehta, Rohan Udeshi and Sahil Jain: We are a young dynamic team from "Generation Z" with fresh, creative ideas and organized functional systems using modern technology for operations and manage logistics. We are organized and systematic when it comes to management and execution. As we tailor-make our plans based on our client's needs and budgets we show them visualized plans either via a presentation or a 3D mapping to a better understanding of things they are paying for and should expect which most old companies fail to explain. We are open to new ideas and we also take our client's suggestions and feedback very seriously.
Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face?
Abhishek Mehta, Rohan Udeshi and Sahil Jain: Luckily we never had internal issues, most of our struggles were due to external factors, majorly being old competitors, unrealistic client expectations and financials.
1. There has always been an old competitor or a field giant that held Monopoly with huge deposits at venues to be a venue partner but lacked innovations and quality. As a fresher, we also faced such challenges before our work spoke about our quality and dedication.
2. In the last 5 years, we have come across several different clients. Some clients have different unrealistic expectations and just like those client expectations vs. client budgets memes, we have seen them as well. But in order to succeed in a competitive business world, we never gave up and tried fulfilling or finding suitable solutions to tackle the situations because when life gives you lemons, make lemonade.
3. Like the saying 'money begets money', one of the biggest challenges for us was financial management. Many times we had to pay advances to our vendors from our pockets or borrow from friends and family as clients would not trust paying advances to new start-ups.
Great Companies: What do you think are the few main things which are most important for a successful business?
Abhishek Mehta, Rohan Udeshi and Sahil Jain: The truth is, great success in business grows from just one, tiny seed. Once we had planted that seed all we need was a great team, the right attitude, patience and good use of our networking skills.
Great companies start with great people and like Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe once said: "A great person attracts great people and who knows how to hold them together”. You don't build a business, you build people and those people build the business. A concept we really believe in and have seen work really positive for us. Our connections with our employees are so strong that they not only produce high-quality work but are also dedicated from the top down. Our core team has been with us since the very start and their growth has been unbelievable.
Maintaining good relationships with the clients. Having a good client relationship has helped us build a great company reputation especially as a start-ups. Building trust and loyalty are important in maintaining a healthy relationship as it leads to an increase in word-of-mouth communication, which in turn helps to build good business leads.
Do remember, sometimes it is okay to let go instead of chasing or accepting business that would be bad for the company.
